Circo Massimo, Secret Villa, and Roman Forum Explorations

Today, after class, I went exploring with my friends (and coincidentally old roommates) Teresa and Shannon. We started off our adventure at the Circo Massimo stop. Circo Massimo was used by the Romans as an arena for chariot racing:




We continued with the theme of historical ruins by following the backside of the Roman Forum:





One of the oldest churches in Rome. Dates back to about the third century which is also when Constantine passed the Edict of Toleration allowing Christians to practice freely.

This church was really pretty, but it had some really creepy paintings on the wall depicting all the ways martyrs dies.
